Honduras Paper Money

I was quite dissappointed that I didn't get any Honduras coins. It seems not popular in the common market anymore. Anyway, next time I have the chance I'm going to try harder to look for coins.

Here's a scan of "cien lempiras". I have 50, 1 (lots of them), 2, 5, 10 and 20 lempiras. In Philippines we call money "pera". I wonder if that has something to do with Lempiras. As you all know Philippines is a Spanish colony for about 300 years.

AU dollar - Eureka Stockade

Eureka Stockade 1854
2004 1 dollar commemorative, mint coin

Eureka stockade is an uprising of gold miners back in 1850s in Australia because of high taxes imposed by the authorities. It was a bloody war! Anyway refer to the image for a little more information. I got this from ebay.com I have been collecting 1 dollar commemorative from Australia since 1999. Some are easy to find through loose change but some were low in mintage that collectors hoard them so I have to buy some. This however is the first one I bought. I haven't bought any more yet, postage from Australia to the US is expensive. I may use a local address in Australia for delivery next time to cut the postage cost. I have about 15 dollar coin now, most of them were from circulation. I will try to feature them in here. I am little bit disappointed with the scan result of the image above, gold color coin doesn't seem to scan well.

This link on Wikipedia has a pretty good explanation if some are interested.

Russian Ruble

This rouble is the regular one, minted on 1964. Apparently those that were minted in 1967 are rare so if you have one keep it they could have friends out there! This one is a little smaller than the commemorative ones.

Russian Ruble

Here's another Russian coin . . .

- 1 rouble
- to commemorate the 20th World War II Victory Anniversary

Russian Ruble

Apart from burning my hair accidentally today, don't worry I am fine and don't ask me how, there is nothing much going on regarding my coin collection. I have slowed down a bit. No new accumulation in the past 30 days. But soon I may have some new Honduras coins. I will post that as soon as I got them.

Anyway, the image displayed here is of course of Russian Ruble. I have not research anything about this particular coin. I decided to just make a comment and guess what it is through looking at the coin. I'll look in the book later. I got this from somebody I swap with once in a while in Europe. Let me know what you think. Some coin do scan better.

- I think this is a commemorative one because of the indication by the year of 1870 - 1970
- the image would be of Lenin
- the coin is of former Soviet Union
- I think it is one ruble (I am not sure)
