a Souviner

Westward Journey Nickel Set
Missouri Quarter

The images above are from my souvenirs I got from St. Louis on my visit there last June. I also got a book, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain. I already have a set of the nickels I got off pocket change. This one I bought more for the information it has on the packaging. I got some - Panama coins!

I got some Panama coins - sort of!

These are the coins that I got from Panama. My husband couldn't easily find some in circulation (he found two from loose change) so when he got to the airport he bought me this souvenir instead. Not really the ideal one for a coin collector but I am glad that he made an effort. These coins are laminated into a plastic backing, a piece of paper with some obvious information was taped on the back of the whole thing. I don't know if I can ever rescue the coins off it. I have successfully broke the thick plastic backing and peeled off most of the laminate but the dried up laminate mixture on the coin itself is staying. At least I can put them in my coin display pockets now. It frustrates me when this happens, an ignorance to what a coin collector would prefer. This is about 10 bucks.

Australian 50 cents

25th Anniversary of the decimal currency.
The ram used to be the what on the reverse side of the round 50 cents!

This took me a while to find. I collect Australia's 50 cent commemorative. Most of them I got from loose change, some from families. This particular one is not very common and I have to buy it from ebay. I don't remember how much I paid for it but I remembered the postage was not cheap.

Panama Coins and Banknotes

The other day I asked my husband to pick up some "Balboas" for me. Today I tried to look through the internet and some books on Panama currency. I realized that they don't have any banknotes. They've stopped the circulation, I think, back in 1940s. There are some coins and it is being used along side US coins which is also a legal tender. So I am hoping I'd still get few coins when he gets back. The image above is scanned from one of my coin books.

If you are lasting with the 50 state quarter thenthis is the same length. That is like 20 years of your life collecting, funny. I don't know if I will last that long really. Good luck collecting!

Note: Any correction of the above information is welcome. I honestly don't remember where I got the schedule.

US Quarters to spare today!

Here are three that I have. These are all from loose change, no mints. I have more from previous years. Forgive the quality of the picture. My scanner couldn't pick up a strong image because of the plastic cover. I didn't want to remove it off the plastic. Email me at yxesmai @ hotmail . com

US Quarters to spare!

Do you collect US quarters? Here are some spares that I have. Most of them were minted in Philadelphia Mint, a few are from Denver. Let me know and we can swap. These are all from circulations. I am interested in circulated coins only. They have more character. Email me for a list in yxesmai@hotmail.com or leave a comment whichever!
